Recessed wall switch in black bakelite. On and off mechanism in the form of rockers. Classic model in Sweden from the 1930s onwards. Very high quality in material and shape. Fits both old and new recessed boxes.

Bakelite is a moulded synthetic resin that is characterized by excellent dimensional and temperature stability (unlike plastics, for example), and has an enormous insulating capacity against electric current. Bakelite began to replace porcelain electrical accessories in the early 1930s. Older bakelite was brown, brown-black or black, but from the 40s and 50s it was also available in white.
