Cross switches should only be chosen when more than two switches are used for the same lamp and are installed between two staircase switches, for example in a staircase or in a basement when a light point is to be switched on and off from several locations.

If you want a regular switch to turn a light source on and off, or have two switches connected to the same lamp, you should choose staircase switches instead.
