Spark grid for tiled stove

Gysinge’s own spark grid for both flat and round tile stoves. Fits most stoves made after 1870 due to its flexible width. Prevents sparks from the fire from spreading into the room and at the same time dampens the draft in the oven. With a spark grate, the tiled stove can be fired with the doors open.

(The environmental image shows an earlier version, the construction is the same but we have refined the wooden handles).

Fire dog with light head

Hand-forged fire dog with a candle head. Fire dogs were common in fireplaces in the past. They were used to put up the wood and thus get a better fire on the fire. Since we in Sweden often replaced the fireplaces with tiled stoves already in the 18th century, it is unusual with preserved fire dogs here. On the continent, however, and especially in countries such as France and England, open fireplaces have continued and fire dogs are therefore still very common.

Our Swedish fire dog is forged after a model from around 1800. The unique thing about the model is that it has a “candle head”, i.e. a holder for candles, which could be lit and create a cozy atmosphere even though the fire was not lit. This little detail makes our fire dog extra decorative when it stands guard and shines in the otherwise only sooty and black hole of the fireplace. The candle head is also very practical for burning candle butts.

Our fire dog can, depending on the size of the stove, be used alone, or placed in pairs. It is also very decorative just as a stand-alone candlestick. The forging is rough and rustic in character, more peasant forging than fine forging, but of the highest Swedish class in every detail.

Hand forged, linseed oil fired iron. Height 265mm, length 365mm, width 245mm. Weight 1.5kg

Kitchen stove rod brass 1.5 m complete

Rod to attach above the kitchen stove for kitchen utensils, potholders etc. Can also be used as a towel rack in bathrooms. The model was common from the late 1800s until the 1930s.

MATERIAL Made of solid brass or in nickel-plated version. Polished shiny surface, but not lacquered. The brass darkens over time if you do not polish it.

MOUNTING The wall brackets have sturdy iron screws (3.5 mm) that are screwed (carefully!) into the wall. The hooks and brackets are then screwed onto the pole. Last of all, you tighten the screws that prevent the bar from rolling.

TIP! The bar can be shortened by sawing it off. It can also be connected to another pole if you want a longer version. In this case, a wall bracket should be placed over the joint.
