Fittings & Iron
It is common for cast iron for outdoor use, such as footscrapers and garden urns, to become rusty and flaky at first, but after a few months the rusting stops. After that, the cast iron takes on a slightly smoother brownish-black surface. This can take different lengths of time and depends a lot on the local climate.
The newly formed surface layer prevents the iron from rusting further, but to maintain the surface, you can use boiled linseed oil. In our article, “Let the iron rust,” you will find even more information about the process of rust.

Paint & Surface Treatment - Interior
1l of linseed oil paint is enough for about 12-15 sq m,
if it is a completely clean surface you are going to paint, you should paint 3 layers!
If you have, for example, an area of 4 sq m to paint, 1l of paint is enough for your project, if it is an area you are going to touch up, 1-2 layers of new paint are usually enough, depending on how worn the surface is!

Linseed oil soap
Our linseed oil soap works great for soap scrubbing patio decks.
Soaping is still a gentle, gentle, environmentally friendly and re-greasing maintenance treatment for all types of wood and wooden floors. However, one should not think that soaping a patio deck is equivalent to a permanent treatment, but rather it should be seen more as cleaning and maintenance.
In our article Soap-cleaning the balcony floor – how to do it, you will find more information and how to proceed.
If you have old fittings that are full of paint and want to clean them.
Soak them in undiluted linseed oil soap overnight, rinse them off the next day and they will usually be as good as new.
When you have installed a new unsanded spruce or pine floor, you can soap scrub the floor a few times before you put it into use to more quickly get the durable surface that soap scrubbing provides. The floor is also bleached by the soap each time it is scrubbed, which makes white pigment, lye or other “cheating methods” unnecessary. Soap scrub about 5 times (if you can!) and use a higher concentration of soap, at least 5 dl per 10 l of cold water. Wait about 1 day between scrubbings so that the floor has time to dry properly.

Miscellaneous
